Astral Ecology
Way of the Mystic Wizard by Mathew Thomas Baker is an interesting text, it explorers a particular etherial plane which is easy access and has lots of different "spaces" (forest, oceans....etc) useful for training. Mathew's "Mystic" realm, is one of many that can be explored through out-of-body adventures. All these realms feel so mysterious and surreal at first....even when we create are own "realms" via tech, like Da Mos Cave (Path Notes by Glenn Morris) and Arthurian Kingdom (Magical Pathworking by Nick Farrell) it can still feel strange. Yet as of late, through my Shapeshifting training, I've started to understand these planes a bit better and how they subtely manifest.
I've been able to understand this through Shapeshifting training, via observing my astral qi develop and the spontaneous transformations occurring within. The Emotional Body appears as an ocean in my internal landscape and as I've expanded and stabilized my astral form, different ecosystems sprout. Forests, Mountains, Fields of Mist....etc. All of the different dimensions (spheres, vortexes....etc) of the Astral Body will start to "pop up" out of nowhere the more you cultivate this Qi.
In writing about these spontaneously awakening ecosystems, I am reminded of that episode of the Simpsons, where Bart and Lisa accidentally create there own civilization in a jar. As I've watched firsthand, the gradual expansion and refinement of my internal astral ecology, this has helped me understand the external astral plane.
Previously, in my exploration of vortexes related to the astral.....arcana such as Trees, Plants, Forests and Stones would come up.....to my great surprise and confusion....but now I understand. The astral is a plane with its own ecology, that has commonalities with the material. The internal astral ecology even responds to cultivation practice, when I am doing EB training, the ocean will spin and during body purification practice, the forests bloom purple flowers.
Anyways....aside from the Gnosis of watching this astral cosmos spring into existence.....there's a ton of spiritual benefits to developing this internal plane....but I'll save those for another post, as I'm still mining. Cheers.
