Internal Strength
When it comes to the martial arts.....I suppose this is a male bias.....but not much attention is payed to Internal Strength. Expansive, Piercing and Projecting Thurisaz forces, get all the fame and glory. Defense is not sexy. Yet lately, I've learned how Internal Strength plays a key role in Draconic mysteries and the martial path.
What is Internal Strength? The quality of qi flow in the Internal Organs (Kidney, Liver....etc) and the capacity for Healing. When I think about careers in UFC and Football......occupations where your body is getting beat into oblivion, causing both internal and external injury. These are the fields where Internal Strength has exceptional value. Beyond basic longevity.....it's in these areas where draconic qi can play a very powerful role. Whether it's in your career or on the battlefield.....Internal Strength teaches you how to healing yourself, so that internal injuries will not linger, causing long term consequences. Even external muscular tears and broken bones, can be knitted together. If your a warrior and want to have longevity and be able to take a "hit".....develop Internal Strength.
"O Dra Ong" mantra, is a potent bit of IS tech.
The Illiad
I am about half-way through the Illiad, referencing back to my thoughts on bored men and society (Killing Field). The whole beginning of the Illiad, is Achilles, Agamemnon and a bunch of other warriors going around the Mediterranean, raiding and looting cities, Troy being the last stop on the list. A bunch of warrior bros, got on a boat, get away from their wives, farms and kingdoms, for years at a time, so they can do some killin, win glory and get shiny prizes (gold, armor and slaves). Based on the text, it's obvious that the men didn't have enough "entertainment" at home and in general, things to keep them "busy". Looking forward to finishing....its so much better than the Odyssey (IMO), Illiad's poetry is next level.
Draconic Insights
Although I've trained in martial arts since I was young....since experiencing blood and injury....I developed a fear of hurting others, suffering and war. Tis an irony of my path.....that I've put so much time and energy into a topic, that on many levels I fear. Yet that emotional posture has started to shift, working Dragon Tech, has allowed me greater acceptance of violence, death and the martial sphere. It has polished off my emotional rejection and left with me a sense of peace in conflict. Twas a slow but strange transition....one that I will likely continue to deepen and grapple upon. In reflecting on this emotional and psychological pivot.....I am reminded of that scene from the movie Patriot Games.....where Ryan enters a satellite imaging room and watches SAS murder terrorists. Twas a chilling scene for me when I was a kid....but reflects back to me my own metamorphosis.
Patriot Games
In regard to the Martial Way.....I forget what brought me to this mental exercise......but I recently began to analyze the martial path itself.....and search out what qualities define this "Way". There are many people who practice internal training, which is non-martial. What atmosphere or energy defines the Martial Way from other paths? It is a very steady and relentless pace of refinement.....a type of "eternal pursuit"of strength. I sought out movies, that I feel carry that correct atmosphere/energy and convey it best. List below.
-The Professional (1994)
-Black Belt (2007)
-Street Fighter 2: Animated Movie (1994)
My last Draconic insight, was on Systems and Waves. Systems that seek to be static and do not allow space for wave propagation.....are inherently unstable. An example from an economic perspective is having strict "price controls" on a product or market. When you seek to "close down" a system.....it collapses. On the other hand, you can have systems that are fine-tuned to handle waves and therefore have enhanced resilience. An example being earthquake proof buildings in California....they have a type of "base isolation" system than enables buildings to endure violent earthquakes and sway with the vibrations. Another example is palm trees.....the trunks flexible design combined with strong roots, enables durability in storms.
Hatha Yoga, is designed to create a flexible body.....so that when cosmic power collides with the system.....there is a clear path. When blocked channels, face waves of massive cosmic power......its not a pretty sight. Another famous example is the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, hit by gusts of wind, which cause the bridge to twist and eventually collapse. A structure of steel and cement....felled by wind.
Finally, when it comes to social structures the same pulse plays. The American founders designed the government with many "wheels" (Executive, Judicial, Legislative....etc) in order to create an ant-fragile system that processes and decompresses "social pressures", thus enhancing the longevity of said society. On the other hand......in Monarchical systems where there is a King or Queen.....it is a massive power burden that is placed on singular leaders and thus can lead to long term social fragility.
Anyways....Draconic Qi likes it's systems to be open and adaptive. The better designs, can handle various waves....thus a greater chance of survival. That's all for now, cheers.
